How It Works |
|
|
|
| |
-
This website will
list all the organizations that are authorized to work within St. Lucia,
e.g., The Rotary Club of St. Lucia.
-
These
organizations will list all the community projects that they are
spearheading and related details on the project, i.e., the name and
description of the project, the community that will be impacted,
their needs, timelines, etc.
-
Users of the site
would then be able to determine which project they would like to
contribute to and choose what method of contribution best meets their
needs.
-
Users would then
complete an online form, communicating the commitment to participate,
and this information will in turn be forwarded to the organization.
-
A representative
from the organization will then follow up with the user to complete
the transaction offline.

Examples of how a
St. Lucian living abroad can contribute:
-
Contribute in the
form of giving your time:
-
A visual artist
can schedule to be in St. Lucia
in time to give art classes at an art center for disabled youths.
-
An occupational
therapist can offer services while on vacation to teach nurses or
caregivers some techniques in caring for the elderly or stroke
victims.
-
A business
entrepreneur can give lectures or workshops to young aspiring women
and men in a community, on how to start a business.
-
Contribute
material or other resources:
-
A business man
who has an excess of paper or office material, or used computer
equipment that can be donated.
-
Avid reader and
writer can contribute old magazines and books to furnish a
children’s library.
-
An artist can
donate art material to an aspiring class of young artists.
-
Used clothing
and footwear
that your kids have outgrown and is still in good condition.
-
Contribute
Funds (Please note there will be no financial transactions
carried out online. All monetary contributions of this nature will
be done offline and coordinated by the organization):
-
Monies from
fundraising events can be donated to benefit a community project.
-
Personal
contributions, in the form of cash can have a valuable impact.
Who benefits?
-
The
organizations now have access to resources in the form of people,
funds or materials, therefore extending their availability to more
communities.
-
The
contributors get satisfaction in knowing that they have made a
difference in the lives of other citizens of St. Lucia.
-
Most importantly,
will be the lives and communities, which will no doubt benefit
from these programs.
-
And the list can
go on.
